Introduction to the Project

When PNL came to his ward office, Mohan attend in the introductory meeting which was organized by PNL. There was no practice to gather people with disabilities in his community before. First time Mohan got opportunity to participate in the orientation and training on disability and leadership development.

Involvement in the Project

After conduct 2-3 times meeting with ward and Mayadevi rural municipality office. PNL conducted the International disabled day partnership with the local Government. All people with disability were participated in first time because there were never practice to gather for celebrate disabled day. Mohan also get chance to participate the celebration of international disabled day in rural municipality office. When PNL formed the ward wise disabled people group committee. Mohan had taken responsibility of the chairman. PNL formed the rural municipality level committee of disabled people. Mohan selected as a treasure of the committee. They gathered and conduct the rural municipality level meeting in regular basis. Outcomes/Changes

Mohan feels confident to able to speak. He helped to make identity card of 50 children and people with disabilities in his ward. Now he helps the disabled and normal people to government office related work to the ward and rural municipality. They were not united in previous but now they help to each other’s within the committee member. Mayadevi rural municipality gave the garland making training for disabled. Mayadevi rural municipality started to celebrate to international disabled day every year and allocating budget for this program. That program played vital role to children people with disabilities for socialization because most of disabled never came to the Local government office before. Nepal government organize gathering program at least 2 times per year.
